Consortium of business schools was founded in 2011 by representatives of the educational community of Italy, United States, Brazil and Russia: Alma Graduate School of the University of Bologna (Italy), Chapman Graduate School of Business at the Florida International University (Miami, United States), COPPEAD Graduate School of Business of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Moscow International Higher Business School MIRBIS (Institute).
In 2012, Economics and Business Administration School of University of Chongqing (China) joined the Consortium. By 2013 the Consortium was joined by new participants: the Sabanci University School of Management (Istanbul, Turkey) and Business School of the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa). San Jose State U., Cranfield U. or IIM Ahmedabad are also members of the Consortium.
The goal of the Consortium is to enrich experience of students from each school through integration of international components. Students of the schools have chances to get to know colleagues and teachers of different business schools from the consortium, visit innovative companies, government agencies, and learn new culture. Also, they can get valuable international experience.
Each school offers its own unique perspective on innovation management in the world economy. Students study problems of the transitional economy (in Russia or Brazil), main points of luxury management (in Italy), new trends in medicine and entertainment industry (in Florida), learn the role of government and state corporations in business development (in China), meet politicians (in South Africa) or gain the best experience of the Islamic world (in Turkey).
Moreover, every programme has own thematic focus based on local features such as oil industry in Russia, «The bottom of the pyramid» in Brazil or the quality of service in Turkey.
The Consortium developed methodological recommendations for the organization of this project, contents of the programme module, requirements for teachers and students of the EMBA programme. In addition to the teaching experiences, teachers of this programme must have practical experience of doing business in companies or consulting areas.
Classes are held mainly in active formats in English. The module lasts 7 days once a year in all the business schools.
